sketchnotes:

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of sketchnoting at the Hike conference in San Francisco, one-day educational event for new designers. Hike brought in one space professional designers and creative people from Adaptive Path, Eventbrite, Dropbox, Facebook, Google and other companies and design studios.

There were several incredible presentations at the event and I’d like to share with you sketchnotes from them.

1. Sketchnotes from inspiring and full of valuable advices Alice Lee’s talk, designer and illustrator from Dropbox whose path to design started at business school.

2. Panel discussion on “How to get that gig” with Laura Brunow Minor (Pinterest), Toi Valentine (Adaptive Path), Melissa Cooper (Eventbrite), Jason Hardy (Nurun) and Rick Byrne (Sitecore). Speakers shared their experience in hiring designers and gave many valuable careers advice.

3. Several summary notes from Stewart Scott-Curran’s presentation on “How I learned to stop worrying and enjoy the ride.”

4. Some high level notes from a motivational speech on designer’s responsibility from Mike Monteiro, author of “Design as a job.”

Read more about the event in Sarah’s post.

It was an incredible day full of inspirations and meetings with wonderful people. Thank you to Laura and Jason for organizing the event!
